Swachhta Hi Seva – A Step Towards a Cleaner and Healthier Kumra

At GSARD, we strongly believe that cleanliness is not just an activity—it is a movement, a collective responsibility, and a way to show respect for our surroundings. In alignment with the Government’s Swachhta Programme, our team proudly organized the “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign under the Kumra Gram Panchayat. The mission was simple yet powerful: to create cleaner villages, healthier communities, and greater awareness about hygiene and sanitation.

Over several days, our volunteers, local villagers, and youth groups came together to clean public spaces, spread awareness, and build a lasting culture of cleanliness and responsibility.

Activities Conducted During the Campaign

  1. Community Clean-Up Drives:
Our volunteers and local residents worked hand in hand to clean roads, school premises, markets, and public gathering areas. The visible transformation of these spaces inspired others to join the movement.

  2. Awareness Programme:
We conducted interactive sessions and discussions to highlight the importance of hygiene, waste segregation, and the long-term effects of a clean environment on public health.

  3. Swachhta Rally:
A colorful and energetic rally was organized to motivate people to keep their surroundings clean. With banners, slogans, and songs, the rally spread the message of “Swachhta Hi Seva” throughout the villages.

  4. Use of Bleaching Powder:
To ensure hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases, we applied bleaching powder in key areas like drains, waste collection spots, and near water sources. This step significantly improved sanitation conditions in the locality.

  5. Community Participation:
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, local youth, women’s self-help groups, and senior citizens—making it a true people’s movement.

Benefits of the Swachhta Hi Seva Programme

  1. Improved Public Health:
Clean surroundings reduce the spread of infections, mosquitoes, and water-borne diseases.

  2. Increased Awareness:
Villagers became more conscious of hygiene practices like proper waste disposal, handwashing, and maintaining cleanliness at home and in public areas.

  3. Environmental Impact:
Cleaner streets and reduced garbage heaps help in protecting the environment and promoting sustainability.

  4. Community Unity:
The campaign brought together people from all age groups and backgrounds, creating a strong sense of unity and civic pride.

  5. Behavioral Change:
Regular awareness efforts encouraged people to make cleanliness a daily habit rather than a one-time activity.

  6. Support for Government Initiatives:
Our campaign strengthened the vision of the Government’s Swachh Bharat Mission, contributing locally to a national movement.

  7. Improved Village Image:
The transformation of the Kumra Gram Panchayat area into a cleaner, healthier, and more welcoming environment has set a positive example for nearby regions.

Our Commitment Ahead

At GSARD, “Swachhta Hi Seva” is not just a campaign—it’s an ongoing commitment. We plan to continue organizing regular clean-up drives, awareness sessions, and school-based hygiene workshops. Our goal is to make cleanliness a way of life in every household and every lane of Kumra Gram Panchayat.

Conclusion

Cleanliness brings dignity, health, and prosperity. Through the Swachhta Hi Seva programme, GSARD has taken a meaningful step toward shaping a cleaner, greener, and more responsible society. Together, with continued awareness and community action, we can ensure that the spirit of “Swachhta Hi Seva” lives on—making our villages shine with pride and purity.
